Random Happenings

Since apparently my blog is stalked daily and people are expressing disappointment in my not posting new pictures, here is a new (very long) post! I hope our stalkers approve... enjoy ;)
Here are the girls trying to find out why Daddy keeps sticking his hand into the pumpkin.

And Noelle had to taste it. Side note, when I eventually had to take that piece of pumpkin away she was not a happy camper!

Little Red Riding Hood starring Lacey Holman.

And Noelle was Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Toto was played by Aunt Sarah's webkinz which was white and spray painted black ;)

Noelle was a bit tired in Target... so sweet.

She's starting to take steps. The most steps I've counted was 5. She's getting too big too fast!

We went to the Volusia County Fair with Tim's parents and had soooooo much fun!

Lacey tested her strength and won a mallet!

She also won a light stick playing a duck game and shared it with Noelle. Such a good big sister!

And my brother Aaron came home from his mission! Noelle loved his tag! One day she'll have her own to love! ;)

Here's my WONDERFUL family at the airport! I love us!
Welcome Home Elder Moss! We love you!

In other news, I made this necklace and LOVE it!

MY beautiful girls!

Noelle at her 9 month check-up
and getting her cheeks checked out :(
Lacey yesterday morning at breakfast. She wanted to wear her flower headband... she's very stylish!
And posing in her flower headband.

This is proof that she is my daughter ;)

(So, this was way back in my mission days... good times!)

Recent Happenings!

A bit of everything starting with Lacey's new found artistic side. You can see, she wasn't terribly excited that I was making her clean it off the wall.

On Saturday I finally cut Lacey's hair for the first time. For only having cut hair 2, maybe 3 times, it turned out well. Though it's easy to hide mistakes in her curly hair!

On Labor Day morning we went to Tim's parents house. They setup this cute little pool for Lacey, but as it turns out Noelle's hatred for baths clearly doesn't carry over to pools!

Cute, huh?!?

Grandpa Chuck let Noelle borrow his socks so her knees wouldn't get hurt crawling around the floor. Thanks Grandpa Chuck!

Then in the afternoon we headed over to Disney... thanks Uncle Jared!!!

Tim and Lacey in line to get on the Carousel.

And Lacey in front of the Tea Cups.

All in all, we've had a lot of fun being a family!!!

"Sac-a-ment!"

I'll give you fair warning, this might turn into a long post. But here it goes...

Tim has been sick for a couple of days and finally went to the doctor yesterday. Lest you think that this post is about some crazy diagnosis, it's just a form of tonsillitis. The medicine has worked and he's feeling a lot better today. Thank you for your concern ;) But yesterday morning he decided that he wanted a blessing. So he called his dad to come give him one once he got home from work at night. So we told Lacey that Nonnie and Grandpa Chuck were coming over. Fast forward a couple hours and Lacey and I were upstairs doing random stuff. I said to her,

"Who's coming over tonight?"

"Nonnie an Granpa Chuck!" She said excitedly. (Side note, I'm typing how she speaks, so don't laugh at my spelling)

"You're right! Nonnie and Grandpa Chuck are coming over. Grandpa Chuck is coming to give Daddy a blessing because Daddy's sick. Grandpa Chuck can give Daddy a blessing because he has the priesthood. Did you know that?

"Yep!"

"What do you know about the priesthood?"

"Da sac-a-ment. I take the sac-a-ment. Bed (Bread) and wa-der."

"That's right the young men that bless and pass the sacrament hold the priesthood!"

Now, the reason that I'm posting this is because it's the first time that I knew that she ever made the connection between the sacrament and the priesthood. You probably should know that it's a rule in our family that we put all toys and crayons away during the sacrament on Sunday. During the rest of Sacrament meeting, she's welcome to color and eat her fruit snacks, etc. but during the sacrament it all gets put away. It's been like that since she was 18 months old. So every Sunday because she can't play during the sacrament she sits on my lap and I narrate what is going on.

Example: "See Abraham (a young man in our ward), he's going to bless the bread, so it's prayer time. Fold your arms." or "See Alex, (another young man, who she LOVES), he's passing the sacrament. Alex holds the priesthood so he can pass the sacrament."

I guess a years worth of narrating that you have to hold the priesthood to bless and pass the sacrament has sunk in! I don't know about you, but I'm excited!!! She listens and understands! I've always known that it's important to teach your children from birth about the Savior and the gospel and I'm finally seeing that all the teaching is working!!! Woo Hoo!

Also, here are some pictures of my sweet girls...

And a picture of my favorite boy ;) I love this picture!

He knows!

I don't really know why I'm writing this other than I feel like I need to. Recently in my life I have become aware that many of the most wonderful and strong women that I know are unable or have much difficulty becoming pregnant or staying pregnant. And my heart just aches for these women. They keep the commandments, love the Lord, and do everything that would qualify them to raise righteous children, but for one reason or another are being denied that blessing. I know that the Lord knows the plan from beginning to end and often we only see the here and now, but it is still hurts at times. I also know that I've been blessed with two beautiful healthy daughter and when I hear of another friend that can't have that blessing right now, it makes me want to just hold my girls and love them even more. When I was on my mission I was studying Preach My Gospel one morning and came across this phrase, "All that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ." Those words fell deep into my soul that day and have stayed with me ever since. I don't know what these women are going through, all I can do is be there for them and pray for them. But there is one, one who know exactly how they feel, all of their pain and heartache and He will make all things "right". We don't know His timetable but we can and must have confidence that He knows... He knows! And I am eternally grateful that he does!
I just want these women and friends going through this to know that I love you and you are in my prayers and are a great example of faith for me to follow. Thank you for all you do for me and others whose lives I know you have touched.

Adventures at Disney

So, I'm back! My laptop died and after much trying to revive it, we gave up and just bought a new one. Anyway for those who care, sorry it's taken so long for a new post... but here it is!!!
Yesterday we went to Disney World (thanks Jared!!!). My sister Danielle is down here spending the week with me and was a huge help with the girls since Tim was at work. So here we are right off the tram.

After a lot of walking, waiting in lines, and Florida SUN, Lacey was done!!! She fell asleep on the people mover and once we put them back in the stroller, Noelle was out in two seconds.

And that night, while Tim and Danielle rode Space Mountian, Lacey, Noelle and I had fun at the dance party in Tomorrowland. Well, mostly just Lacey and I ;)

Here's my little dancer! She started out kinda slow, but as the night went on (and her Minnie ears went on) she got into the dancing... seriously, she is too cute for words!!!

A Little Boost

Noelle first turned over by herself on Monday, April 5. I say "by herself" because this is what normally happens... Lacey gives her a little push...

So, I finally got her turning over by herself on camera this morning... how cute is she?

Great Women

Well, this weekend we hosted the BYU Women's Rugby Team... again (we did it last year too). It's fun to have them at our house. They are women of great strength... in more ways than one. They made it to the championship games and were told they would be playing on Friday and Saturday, but then a week before they flew to Florida they called to get their game times and the Rugby Association said, "Saturday at 2:00 and Sunday at 10:00." SUNDAY!?!? There had been a scheduling mistake and with the tournament being a week away, they couldn't change it. So, the girls all decided to play Saturday and if they win, then they'd forfeit the Sunday game. Just like that, their dreams of winning nationals were gone. I'm so proud of them! I love that they are such wonderful example of strong, faithful women full of integrity for my daughters to look up to. We went to their game to cheer for them and had a blast! Rugby is a crazy violent sport. Here's a photo of one of the girls that was so nicely playing with Lacey and Noelle in the morning, who was, on the field putting an opponent in a headlock and throwing her to the ground!!! WOW!

Also here’s Lacey and Noelle at the game sporting their BYU attire. Lacey didn’t care about the game; she found and convinced a little friend to walk up and down the bleachers. She is turning into such a leader.

They won by the way, 46-7! And what did they do on Sunday, went to church and got on the plane to go home. "They'll be remembered more for this than being champions," Coach Waqa said in this article. And I know that is and will be true in our home!

Big Girl Bed... Day One

Well, Lacey is getting too big for the crib and we need it for Noelle, so we introduced Lacey to her new Big Girl Bed! She was so excited about it as Tim was setting it up last night. After it was all set up, she crawled up in it and asked, "Paci?" Which is her way of saying, "Okay, I'm ready for bed, so can I have my pacifier now?" (She's only allowed her pacifier when she's in bed, and she knows it!) We decided we should let her sleep in the crib last night and start the big girl bed out today for nap time. So, today for nap time I rocked her, which is the signal that it's time to sleep and after a few seconds she asks for her paci which is her signal that she's ready to get in the crib. When she asked for her pacifier I said, "Okay go get in your bed (meaning the big girl bed)." And she got out of my lap and proceeded to try and climb into the crib. I laughed and said, "No, sweetie, your big girl bed." She was so excited! She climbed up into laughing with glee the entire way. Settled herself down with her teddy bear, I gave her her pacifier, put the blanket on her, gave her a kiss and, left closing the door behind me (as always).
This is how I left her before exiting the room.

I came down stairs turned on the monitor and waited to hear what would happen. Sure enough I heard the pitter patter of little feet and "Elmo, you go bed Elmo." Apparently it was Elmo's nap time too ;) I went upstairs and put her back in the bed, gave her a kiss and came back down. Then I hear rocking, as in the rocking chair. I went back up to find her rocking Elmo to sleep. I put her in the back in the bed and came back down. Next I hear, "Here-you-go baby doll, I luf you baby doll." Back up I go, to find her feeding her baby doll with a spoon. This time I threw all the toys in her closet and closed the closet doors (I know I should have done this in the first place - thank you very much). I put her back in the bed, tucked her, her teddy bear, Elmo and the baby doll under the covers and went back down. All I heard that time was a bit of rustling around in her bed and then silence. After about 30 minutes of silence I went back up and this is what I found...

My sleeping beauty! So much for tucking her in ;)
She just woke up about 30 minutes ago and what I hear was a bit of rustling and then a knock, knock, "Mooooommy, Mooooommy," knock, knock on her door. So cute!!!
We'll see how tonight goes. Let's all cross our fingers!

Our March Madness

So, I've married into a wonderful family, who happen to love all things sport related. Because I love them and my husband, I take part in their filling out brackets for March Madness. Basically, Tim called out two teams and I would pick one (not knowing anything about either of them) and he would enter it into the computer. Well, Lacey is definitely a Holman and apparently wanted to fill out a bracket as well, so Tim did the same thing for her. He would call out the names of the teams and she would pick one. It was so cute and I'm sure Tim loved that his little girl was taking part in a "boy's" activity. (I know it's stereotypical, sorry.)

And here's my St. Patty's Day with my two Irish girls!
Green pancakes complete with shamrock cup and green syrup bowl!
(Thank you Sister Gerald and Sister Downs)

Lacey LOVES to put Noelle's pacifier in her mouth and then take it back out and them put it back in... I think you get the picture ;)

Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

Fun at the Zoo!

Today a friend of mine and her son ventured out to the zoo with Lacey, Noelle and I. It's Noelle's first time at the zoo. Doesn't she look so excited to be there?

There was a huge tortoise there for children to climb on. I promise that Lacey initially wanted to get on it, but once she was on she changed her mind. I think she might be crossing her fingers that she doesn't fall off.

Lacey and Nathan were so excited to see the cheetahs.

The next couple of picture are in front of the porcupine planters.

How cute are these kids?!?!

After the zoo we went to lunch courtesy of free Grand Slam Day at Denny's. Yeah for free food! It was raining when we finished lunch, so Lacey and I walked back to get the car while My friend waited with Noelle. We kinda got wet. Here's my beautiful wet blue-eyed daughter.

My Sleeping Beauties!
(I didn't realize when I dressed them that they were wearing basically the same thing... oh well, they were cute!)

Here's our sweet Noelle. She has starting to coo with all her smiles. I'm not very good at timing the photo, so this is the best smile I got a picture of. She's just too adorable for words!
