The verdict is in...

Here's one more comic for your enjoyment!
Well, we had a dr. appt. today to see if my body is ready enough for an induction, and it is! Dr. Zittel said that we are good to go and that he'll see us tomorrow at 4 a.m. I can't believe it's already here. We are actually going to have another baby! I was playing with Lacey today and the thought came to mind that today is the last day it's just she and I at home together. It was a kind of sad moment and an exciting moment all at once. I feel blessed to be able to have two children and to be able to raise them to know their Savior and Father in Heaven. It's a huge responsibility and blessing to be these girls teacher and example in while on this earth. As tomorrow approaches (and everyday) I pray that I will be the mother that our Heavenly Father wants me to be.
The excitement is building and soon we'll meet the new little spirit that we are being entrusted with... It's going to be one amazing day!

T minus 15 days...

I crack up whenever I read this comic... hilarious!

Let me just start by saying I love this man more than anything or anyone...

(This picture was a couple Sundays ago when Tim got home from church. He took off his shoes and socks and Lacey put them on... cute!)

But, this man is a VERY close second right now!

This is Dr. Zittel. He is wonderful! He's my OB/GYN. I had an appointment on Tuesday and decided I needed to talk to him about my Christmas due date. Now for those of you who might be all about the "letting labor happen naturally" thing, might want to stop reading. I, on the other hand, have no desire to spent Christmas in the hospital in labor. I expressed this desire to my doctor on Tuesday by asking, "So, how do you feel about inducing me early?"

To which he chuckled and said, "Come back to my office and we'll talk about it."

Once I got back to his office he said, "So, how does December 17th sound? That's when I'm in the hospital."
"Um, sounds great!" I said surprised at the ease of convincing him of an early induction.
He then proceeded to tell me that it's all contingent upon if I had any cervical change at all the day before. He said that he'll check me the day before to see if my body is ready for an induction. He seems to think that since it's my second child, I'm good to go early! And I'm ALL about having this baby a week early ;)
So, December 16th we'll find out if our new addition will be born the next day. For those of you who happen to know what happens on December 16th are probably laughing right now and for those of you that don't... it's my birthday! I've said since I found out we were pregnant that I want an epidural for my birthday... I'll happily take it as a belated birthday present too!!!

I've fallen and I can't get up!

So, not this Sunday, but the last Sunday, I was walking down the stairs, carrying Lacey in one hand and some clothes in the other. I don't know about you, but that's all the hands I have so, I wasn't holding on to the rail... and I slipped and fell about halfway down the stairs and landed on my back with Lacey on top of me. Once I checked her our and saw that she was fine, I made sure I could still feel the baby moving around, and I did, what's left to worry about... me. My lower back was hurting a lot, but it wasn't until after church that I realized the pain was not going away. Tim wanted me to go to the doctor (and that desire was seconded by my mother and my mother-in law), so, I told him that I would call the doctor on Monday. Well, the doctor wanted me to come in so he could monitor the baby for a while. I told him that she was fine and that I was the one suffering! He said, "Well, that's what happens when you go stair surfing when you're 8 months pregnant!" After the monitoring, he said the baby is fine (I believe I already told him that) and that I caused "severe trauma to my coccyx"... translation... I broke my bum ;) Okay, so, it's not really broken, but it did hurt A LOT!!! He said to take Tylenol and told Tim to buy my one of those doughnuts to sit on so I didn't traumatize it anymore. I've been walking VERY slowly and that's if I could even get off the couch to walk at all. So, my wonderful mother-in-law made dinner for us on Monday and Wednesday. And it was delicious both nights! One of the dinners was a lasagna, needless to say Lacey loved it!

She also had a lot of fun with my doughnut ;)

Gotta love her!
By the way, lest you are worried, I'm doing MUCH better, but I still love and need my doughnut... maybe the next time Tim buys me a doughnut it will be cream filled with chocolate icing!Seriously, doesn't that look good!!!

I Want Candy!!!

So, as far as Halloween costumes go, I couldn't decide what I wanted Lacey to be. I had been given two costumes, both of which I loved! Luckily, I had two night for her to dress up. First was our ward's Trunk or Treat on Friday night. I figured she would be running around a lot with the rest of the kids there, so I dressed her in the cooler (temperature wise) of the two costumes.
And here she is as a ballerina. A big shout out to Aunt Mary for making her tutu and to her daughter Kristen for the tights and slippers! I love my little ballerina!!!
Next is my costume... I was going to right the words, "I swallowed a pumpkin seed", but decided against it. Yes, Tim drew a jack o' lantern face on my big belly. It was a hit!
And Tim dressed as a Price is right contestant... not a far stretch, since he really was one! I love his face here, he was so cute handing out candy to the kids. I love him!!!

And Lacey trying to decide which piece of candy she should eat first.
Finally a smile. Most of the night she just had a sucker in her mouth, so I was excited to get this smile!
This last week Lacey figures out a new dance move and it's even cuter in her tutu. Also, I've been trying to teach her how and when to say "Trick or Treat". I would ask her, "What do you say to get candy?", and every time she would answer, "Pees (Please)". So, I changed my approach. "What do you say on Halloween?", then I got the right answer, "Teeat (Trick or Treat)".

Then on Saturday night, we went Trick or Treating with my family. They came down to go with Lacey for the first time. Here we are before our hike around the neighborhood. As you can see, on Halloween night, Lacey was a ladybug. That would be be costume number two ;)

She did really well, actually, she loved it! She had to hold her pumpkin and by "had to" I mean she would not let anyone else touch it! She knew it was where the candy went and that it was hers... smart girl. This was in our neighbors yard. They had the cutest pumpkins and it was our last house of the night. Any break that Lacey had she would weed through her loot and find what she wanted.

We all had a lot of fun, now, bring on the candy!

Lacey, meet Jack...

Tradition dictates that we carve a pumpkin for Family Home Evening the Monday night before Halloween. This last Monday was no exception! It was more fun this year because Lacey could get into it a little more. Here are Tim and Lacey planning out what type of face will grace our pumpkin.

And here is Lacey just lookin' cute! You can't really tell in this picture, but she has on her pumpkin shirt... which she loves!

Jared, Tim's brother, is scooping out the guts and Lacey is helping put it in a pile. Such a good little helper!

I was craving caramel apples, so I bought some that were on sale, and they were GOOOOOD! Lacey thinks so too!

What's in there?

And what are you doing Daddy?

Finished product! Lacey and Jack... O' Lantern that is ;)

Happy Halloween!

Weekend/FHE happenings

So, over the weekend we went to my parents house in Orange Park. It's our annual pilgrimage to the Southern Women's Show and all the Moss women went this year! It was so much fun!
Here's Sarah, Heather, Lacey and Danielle.
Seriously, how gorgeous are my sisters!?!?!

Here's Sarah, Lacey and Danielle. There was a fireman's booth and they were handing out these cute hats!

Then on Monday night we went to Disney World with another family in our ward for the wife/mother's birthday. I'm glad they are our friends and that she had a birthday and that they invited us to go to Disney with them, because it was fun! Now, I only added this picture because some of you have been asking to see me pregnant. I'm not a big fan of having pictures taken of me while pregnant. But Tim and Lacey are cute! ;)

By the way, I'll be 31 weeks on Friday... time is a flyin'!

A Few of Her Favorite Things...

Our neighbor
hood is right next to the Central Florida Zoo. It's not the best zoo, but it has a small water park and Lacey loves it!

This was taken on Tim's birthday. She stole his gift bag and carried it around like a purse. With Lacey, every bag type item IS a purse. And she loves them!

Okay, so this is Lacey trying to shove the entire beater into her mouth. What's on the beater you might ask? What else, her favorite new treat... cookie dough!

I don't know if you can really see the shoes in her hands, but when your toddler is screaming to take his shoes off, mine is screaming to put them on. What can I say, the girl loves shoes!

The next three pictures were taken today at her 18 month check-up (Yes, I know, she 19 months old, I was not very on top of appointment making this time around.) This first one was after the nurse pricked her toes for a blood test. She didn't care at all, she was more interested in what the nurse was doing than any pain that she might have felt. Then the nurse put a bright pink band-aid on her toe, yet another one of her favorite things.

Then we waited for the doctor to come in and we find another favorite... OUTSIDE! Anything outside she loves.

After the doctor was finished, she needed some shots, so we passed the time reading a book. Lacey loves books, especially if they have paper (vs. cardboard) pages. She will just sit and read to herself. It's so sweet to watch!

There we have it, Lacey's favorites! As a side note for anyone who cares, she is measuring in the 30-40 percentile in height and only 10-15 percentile for weight. The doctor said that's fine, she's always been skinny and probably will always be skinny. He said he'll see us for her 2 year old check-up, I said, "Actually you'll see us at the 3 day old check-up for the next baby." He laughed and said, "That's true!"

For your viewing pleasure...

I just have a couple pictures and a video to share that I thought would be fun.
This first one is after Lacey tried to play Godzilla and scaled our DVD holder. Unfortunately, the DVD holder didn't want to play and she and it fell to the floor. If you couldn't tell, it fell on top of her and met her forehead. This was taken a few minutes afterward. Needless to say, she had a bruise for a couple weeks. I just love this picture because it looks like she's laughing and saying,
"Oops, my bad."

These next two came because, I was in the living room when I heard, crinkle, crinkle (that's the sound that a plastic bag makes) coming from the kitchen. And so I went to investigate and this is what I found... She's definitely my daughter!

Yes, that is a bag of marshmallows!
And last but not least, we have Lacey's audition tape for The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. We were driving and I was singing along with the CD, when next thing I hear, Lacey's joining in too!

What do you think, is Mo Tab missing a singer?

NURSERY!!!

The Lord loves us and as evidence of that love He created the nursery class in Primary ;) Yep, Lacey turned 18 months old on the 29th, so Sunday was her first time in nursery and she (or I) couldn't have been happier!
This is us on our way to nursery, she's so excited!

When we walked into the nursery room there were blocks on the floor, so, of course, she forgot all about me. I tried to get her to say good-bye, but she was too busy showing Sister Hatch (the nursery leader) the blocks.

At one point, they had to bring her to me because I needed to change her diaper. When I took her back to nursery, I finally got her so say good-bye. As you can see she blew me kisses. So sweet!

When I went to pick her up after church, she saw me and got so happy. Here she is with the puppet she made during nursery. And you can see she's a bit tired... all the fun she had wore her out!

It's still crazy to think that I have a child in nursery, but I do. And I'm so proud of how well she did! My baby's growing up and I'm loving every minute of watching her!

The ultrasound has spoken...

Of course there's always a chance that it's not a girl, but when I asked the ultrasound tech how sure she was, she chuckled and said, "I'm not allowed to say that I'm 100% sure, so let's put it this way... you can take off the price tags and wash the baby girl clothes!" Tim and I laughed.

If you can read an ultrasound at all, you can clearly see...

she's a girl!

(One day she's going to kill me for posting pictures like this one)

Here's her profile. The arrow is pointing to her nose.

And this one might scare you a bit, but it's a 4D picture. She looks like she's hanging on to me for dear life! Or maybe she's just sleeping on her placenta pillow ;)

In any case, we are so excited to be having another girl! There are so many pieces of baby girl clothes that I LOVE that Lacey never got to wear or that she only wore once. So, I get another girl to put them on... YEAH!

We're still on for a Christmas baby, she's measuring spot on for the December 25th due date!

So, we shall see, but in the meantime, we have to come up with another girl name ;)

It's Independence Day!

Well, I'm a couple days late, but Happy 4th of July! We had a great long holiday weekend. It started on Thursday night when we drove up to my family's house in Jacksonville. On Friday Tim went fishing with my Dad and I stayed at the house and caught up on the Moss family happenings. And, of course, Lacey played with her aunts and uncle... she loves to play with them! We left their house Saturday morning and drove to our church's 4th of July BBQ. It was great! Great food, great games and great friends! Lacey and her newly walking self, got very dirty as she fell in the dirt/grass many, many times. But she loved every second of it! Brother and Sister Otero even made Lacey a couple small pink water balloons to play with. She squished them in her hands and the water would swish back and forth... then they would pop, with water flying everywhere, and she would laugh and laugh. It was sweet of the Otero's to think of our little Lacey. Then we went to jump in Aunt Pat and Uncle Scott's pool. Very nice during a hot Florida day! Here is Tim and Lacey in the pool playing with Tim's cousin Kara (by the way, Happy Birthday Kara!) and her little girl Reese. Reese was waiting all day for Lacey to get there so they could play... how cute is she!
Here's a close up of Lacey in the pool.

Then we went home to eat a yummy 4th of July dinner with Tim's parents and then off to see the fireworks! We're lucky to live VERY close to the lake where they shoot of the fireworks here in Sanford. We got a great parking spot right on the lake's edge to watch the show. Here's Lacey waiting for the show.

She was a bit nervous. The people parked next to us were shooting off their own fireworks and they were a kinda loud when they shot off.

Then they shot off a BIG one and Lacey screamed. She was so scared, poor baby. All she wanted was her Mom, her pacifier and her blanket. How sad is this face! Her tears are still there :(

Eventually, the real show started and she liked to watch the real ones, we were far enough away that it wasn't too loud. Once she calmed down, she didn't have to be held by me. So Daddy got a turn and so did Nonnie and Grandpa Chuck (Tim's parents).

It was a wonderful holiday spent with family and friends. I am grateful to live in this country and for those that have fought and are fighting for our freedom. What a blessing to be free!
